Prolific North is an independent news and events company based in Manchester established in 2013. Across our team of fourteen, we’re committed to shining a spotlight on the work, people, companies and stories that make the North a powerhouse.

We cover the North West, Yorkshire and Humber, the North East and, more recently, Scotland. Our news coverage, research, and editorial features bring almost 1.5 million visitors to our website every year and a combined social following of 60k across all our platforms including our loyal email subscribers.

Every year we bring together thousands of the very best Northern talent at our live events and highly anticipated annual awards galas including the Northern Marketing Festival, Digital City Festival, Prolific North Live or the Tech Awards to name a few.

As a Marketing Lead at Prolific North, you will:

  • Work across a variety of projects and events, including marketing the acclaimed Prolific North Awards, Digital City Festival, and Northern Marketing Festival.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel campaigns, incorporating compelling copy and engaging visuals across websites, sales collateral, social media, email campaigns, blog posts, landing pages, and press releases.
  • Design and create visual content for social media, email, and website campaigns using Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
  • Utilise data and analytics to monitor and report on campaign performance, helping to shape future strategy.
  • Manage and update content across multiple websites, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.

You’ll be a great fit for this role if:

  • You have at least 3 years of hands-on marketing experience, ideally in a small-to-medium-sized B2B business or in events.
  • You have a portfolio of compelling, persuasive copywriting and can demonstrate your ability to craft engaging content.
  • You have a strong background in planning and executing end-to-end campaigns across multiple channels.
  • You’re proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and confident in designing visual assets for marketing campaigns.
  • You are creative, full of ideas, and able to work independently, but also thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • You’re a confident communicator, comfortable speaking with external stakeholders, pitching ideas in meetings, and giving constructive feedback.
  • You’re highly organised and adaptable, especially when working on live events where last-minute changes are common.
  • You are commercially minded, with an understanding of how marketing drives business growth.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience using Google Analytics (Universal and GA4), Data Studio, and other reporting tools
  • Experience with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Familiarity with the Northern creative and digital landscape.
