The Role

To work as part of our busy marketing & team to maximise exposure of events and tours promoted by SJM Concerts in conjunction with the promoters and directors in a cost effective, efficient manner to the excellent first-class standards upon which the company has built its reputation.

Working within the marketing team to assist the marketing campaign managers in implementing effective marketing strategies for SJM tours and events.

Assisting the SJM digital team to help oversee numerous social media channels, websites, blogs, CRM campaigns and digital-led tour marketing campaigns.

To be highly efficient, organised and enthusiastic, with an ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment - a passion for the music industry is highly desirable. The successful applicant must be able to prioritise workload and be able to adapt quickly to deal with urgent situations effectively.

This is a new, entry level position within the department that will allow the successful applicant to develop and make their own.

Key Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Working with members of the SJM marketing, PR and digital teams you will be responsible for assisting on all elements of the company's marketing offering.
  • Overseeing the creation and scheduling of the weekly gigsandtours email newsletter.
  • Working with the marketing campaign managers to help coordinate bespoke CRM campaigns as required.
  • Liaising with marketing campaign leads and coordinating correspondence with tour partners such as Ticketmaster, See Tickets and AMG to identify SJM events and tours that need significant attention.
  • Booking and organising local street marketing initiatives as required by campaign leads including print distribution campaigns, hand to hand flyering, creating multi leaflets, organising door drops, poster runs and bespoke street marketing initiatives.
  • Proof reading tour adverts, press advert composite pages, multi-leaflets and other SJM marketing collateral as requested by the marketing and PR team members.
  • Assisting with the creation of bespoke artwork requests, tour and event artwork formats, ordering print including posters and flyers at different specs for venue use.
  • Coordination of bespoke multi leaflets for multi-purpose use in different territories and the creation of artwork for use in venue leaflets as required.
  • Extracting marketing financial reports from Opera (SJM's accounting software) to share with marketing campaign leads as requested.
  • Offering creative ideas and suggestions for tour and event announcements and general marketing pushes as required.
  • To work out of hours as required, including on site at festivals and outdoor shows.
  • To fulfil any other duties as requested by the Directors, Head of Marketing & PR and Head of Digital & Special Events Marketing.
  • To make yourself familiar with the Office H&S policy and ensure you work in consideration of our H&S practices, in a safe and proper manner at all times.

Skills / Experience Required

  • A suitable qualification and/or education to degree level is desirable.
  • Some marketing experience is required, preferably in a music, events, live entertainment, creative arts, cultural or lifestyle position.
  • An understanding of the main social media platforms, including (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Experience of creating CRM campaigns is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good language / communication skills and an ability to write concisely.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at any one time and to work to deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills and an ability to write concisely.
  • A knowledge & understanding of the music / live industry is preferable.
  • Enthusiasm for the role and a willingness to assist and work as part of a close team.
